In a sentence, if you don't mind a lot of attention paid to this guy's balls, you'll love this book.

If you want more: "I said a silent prayer.
Actually, silent is probably the only type of prayer a guy should attempt when his head's in a toilet."

 All righty then. Add a love of rugby and true love for a girl who treats him like a little brother, and Ryan Dean's school year is looking pretty bleak.

Great book. Fun to read. Try it out.

Little Brother by Corey Doctorow

When Marcus and his buddies skip school to play an Internet/street scavenger hunt, they are arrested in the panicked response to a terrorist bombing and sent to a Homeland Security dark site for interrogation.

Big Brother is watching, is everywhere and is malicious. Marcus is a marked man.

Eleanor and Park

Two outcasts find each other. Bullying and harassment. Gym class hell. Child abuse and neglect. Spousal abuse. Prejudice. Danger.

Funny dialogue, well drawn characters. It definitely has a dark side—Eleanor’s life is not a field of Shasta daisies either at home or in school.

The Raven Boys, by Maggie Stiefvater

Sounds romantic, but actually, not so much. More psychic.

 

The best part? If you like this one, it's just the first in a trilogy. Book 2, The Dream Thieves, was just released. and the book on CD is coming right behind it.
